I decided to use Gcast for my one minute podcast. I really liked it and will definitely be using it in the future. Next I will be adding it as a sidebar to my edublog. We shall see how this works.. My final project is a second grade wikispace for all four second grade classes at my school. This website will be used by all four second grade teachers, all parents and students. The space contains classroom information, a newsletter, teacher email and contact information. It will also contain a student page for student entries and writing samples. It is a work in progress, but here is what I have so far:
Yeah.. I have finally managed to set aside a little time for a new post! I have been thinking a lot about my final project and have been working on setting up a wikispace for my second grade team. I am excited about this for many reasons. One is that I hope to help out my new teammates by making things easy and efficient and all in one place. Another reason is that I am excited about trying this out as a tool for parents and for students. I am hoping that I am able to put something together that is simple but unique. All for now….
I have been thinking a lot lately about my final project for this class. I am very interested in creating a second grade blog for all four second grade classes at my school. I think this would be a great tool for teachers, students and parents to communicate, share ideas and see what their kids are learning in the classroom. My only question is whether this should be a blog or a wiki. Hopefully this course will help me determine that and create the project.
Who am I? Well I am many things I suppose. It depends on who you ask! (ha). Ms. Wilson is a second grade teacher at Rolando Elementary school. She has been teaching for 6 years. Prior to that she worked at San Diego State University in the College of Business. I am also known as “mom”. I am “mom” to Lauren (age 15) and Erin (age 12). I also have a “brady bunch” crew. My boyfriend, Mitch, and his two boys, Tyler (age 15) and Zachary (age 13). We have 4 pets. Abbey, Emma and Jazz are the “muts” and Charlie, the cat, keeps them all in line. I currently live in the Fletcher Hills area of town which is in the east county in between El Cajon and La Mesa. I have active kids who are involved in soccer and cross country. So sometimes I am also known as the taxi driver. Other titles I have been given are maid, nurse, cook, vet, typist, pool cleaner and many I probably shouldn’t list here! I enjoy family time, camping at the beach, travelling (when there is time), teaching kiddos and learning new things.
