Evaluation

I will send out a survey at the end of our first trimester, which will ask parents how much they have used the site, do they feel it is valuable and what would they like to see changed.  A similar survey will be given to my team, or it may be just a discussion during one of our PLC meetings.

Implementation

I have already introduced the site to my team and to my principal.  They were excited and can not wait to learn how to use it.  I will introduce it to them at our first PLC meeting (professional learning community).  I will introduce it to the class most likely in week 2 of school.  Students will have to turn in the district technology agreement in order to use the site at school.

Development

I will be using wikispaces as the site host.  I will also create a tutorial and online manual, which teachers, parents and students can use.  I will need to make some finishing touches to the site.  I will also need to invite teachers, parents and students as members and will need to determine which pages will be locked for editing and which pages will be open.  I am very happy with how the site turned out.

Design

Teachers should be able to view and contribute input within the site.  Parents will also be able to view information.  Parents will also have a section where they can contribute information as well.  Students will be able to view the site and will be contributing to the student pages.  More pages will be added throughout the school year.

Analysis

My final project was designed for use by the second grade team (4 members including myself), parents (of approximately 80 second graders), and students (80).  I want the teachers to be able to use it to provide information to their classes and parents.  I also want teachers to be able to showcase students work and to share work and projects with eachother, and possibly even other second grade teachers at other schools.  I have not seen a similar site in my district.  I have seen many teacher pages and second grade websites but not collaborative wikisites.   Some of the teachers have limited computer/technology experience so there will be a learning curve in the initial phase. A tutorial for teachers, parents and students will need to be created.   I do believe there will be incentive and motivation once the team sees how easy it is to maintain, and use this wiki site.
